Vaughn-Shane here. I'm a storyteller passionate about the things that shape our experiences, connections, and identities. That's now, but my writing career started in 2008, writing fiction about my friends where everyone heroically died (I haven't stopped apologizing since).
It wasn't until 2018 that I published my first book, Prismatic. That was also the year I balanced a full-time job, wrote music for the stage adaptation of a book of poetry, and moved to Chicago. I also support other creators and author conferences, freelance graphic design, guest speak on podcasts and to LGBTQ+ communities, and have adopted an absolute unit of a cat.
I'm currently learning what it's like to finish a bachelor's degree in my late twenties while working a full-time job and on my forthcoming YA novel, The Culling. It seems like a lot, really, but this is the closest I've been to the dreamβto write stories that help people.
